Bangalore Tourist Places Near Metro Stations: 12 Practical Stops

Bangalore Metro is useful, but “near Metro” is often stretched beyond recognition. This guide separates genuinely walkable places from stops where a short auto ride is still the honest recommendation.

The practical route

1

Cubbon Park — Cubbon Park station

The station exits beside the park and works for Vidhana Soudha, the High Court and the Visvesvaraya Museum. This is the easiest cluster for a first-time visitor.

2

Church Street and MG Road — MG Road station

Church Street begins a short walk from the station. Combine it with Brigade Road, cafés and an evening meal rather than treating each street as a separate attraction.

3

Vidhana Soudha — Dr B. R. Ambedkar station

The grand exterior is visible within minutes of leaving the station. Security rules can change, so plan this as an exterior architecture stop.

4

Lalbagh — Lalbagh station

The station is close to a garden entrance, but Lalbagh itself is enormous. Budget time for walking inside instead of judging the visit by the last-mile distance.

5

KR Market — Krishna Rajendra Market station

Good for an early flower-market visit. Keep valuables secure, wear closed footwear and remember this is a working market rather than a staged tourist experience.

6

National College and Basavanagudi

National College station is the useful starting point, but Bull Temple and the older food streets still involve walking or a short auto ride.

7

ISKCON Temple — Mahalakshmi or Sandal Soap Factory

Neither station places you directly at the entrance. A short auto ride is normally simpler, especially for families or in afternoon heat.

8

Bangalore Palace — Mantri Square Sampige Road plus auto

The Metro helps with the long first leg, but the palace is not truly walkable from the station for most visitors. Treat it as a Metro-plus-auto stop.
