Agra is more rewarding when its major sights are grouped by geography and visited with context. The selection below balances defining landmarks with places that explain how the city developed.

Planning a multi-day itinerary?
Use the clearest, coolest viewing window for the Taj Mahal, then give Agra Fort a separate two-hour block. Combine Itimad-ud-Daulah with Mehtab Bagh, and reserve a half day for Fatehpur Sikri only if you have enough time. Pair this with the Food chapter, the Budget page, or the Hidden Gems chapter.
