Top Attractions in Agra

Agra is more rewarding when its major sights are grouped by geography and visited with context. The selection below balances defining landmarks with places that explain how the city developed.

Timings and entry fees were verified on our last visit. They change occasionally — if you spot an outdated detail, please let us know.

1Taj Mahal

Shah Jahan's marble mausoleum is best appreciated slowly: through the gateway reveal, garden axis, changing stone detail and Yamuna setting. Carry minimal belongings and verify the weekly closure and ticket rules.

Planning a multi-day itinerary?

Use the clearest, coolest viewing window for the Taj Mahal, then give Agra Fort a separate two-hour block. Combine Itimad-ud-Daulah with Mehtab Bagh, and reserve a half day for Fatehpur Sikri only if you have enough time. Pair this with the Food chapter, the Budget page, or the Hidden Gems chapter.
