Chandigarh is best understood as a complete urban design rather than a checklist of isolated monuments. Le Corbusier's sector plan, the Capitol Complex, tree-lined movement network and linked green spaces remain the central story; Nek Chand's Rock Garden provides a contrasting work of individual imagination and reuse. The city is comparatively manageable, but sector distances are larger than they appear. Combine the Capitol Complex, Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake, then give Sector 10 museums and the Rose Garden another block. Public bikes and walking work in good weather; autos and app cabs are practical between sectors. Capitol Complex access can involve security, identification and guided-tour arrangements. Verify these before arrival instead of assuming every government building is freely accessible.
