Jaipur Trip Budget: What to Allow for 2, 3 or 4 Days
Jaipur can suit several budgets, but a cheap room does not automatically mean a cheap trip. Fort transfers, entry tickets and shopping are the categories most likely to surprise first-time visitors.

The practical plan
Budget style
Allow roughly ₹1,700–₹2,700 per person per day when sharing a simple room, eating local meals and using autos or buses carefully. Major ticket combinations can lift a sightseeing-heavy day.
Comfortable style
Around ₹3,200–₹5,000 per person per day supports a well-reviewed mid-range room, mixed local transport, seated meals and the main paid attractions.
Premium style
₹6,000+ per person per day can cover an upscale stay, private car use and higher-end dining, but luxury heritage properties can move the figure far higher.
Two-day cost pattern
Day one is usually cheaper if it stays in the Old City. Day two costs more because Amber-area transport and additional tickets cluster together.
Costs people forget
Airport or station transfers, guide fees, camera rules, tips, bottled water, shopping delivery and evening programme transport all sit outside the headline room rate.
How to reduce the total
Stay near the area you will visit most, group ticketed sights, agree on transport terms and decide a shopping ceiling before entering the markets.
Common questions
Is Jaipur cheaper than Delhi or Mumbai?
Accommodation and food can be lower, but private sightseeing transport and palace tickets narrow the gap.
How much cash should I carry?
Keep a modest backup while using secure digital or card payments where accepted. Never carry the full trip budget in cash.
Does the estimate include shopping?
No. Jewellery, textiles and crafts vary too widely, so set a separate shopping allowance.
